Position Purpose | The position works on the installation, repair, and maintenance of the College's refrigeration, air conditioning, and chilled water systems in all College buildings. The position also provides service for the ammonia refrigeration system of Thompson Arena ice rink, routine building maintenance services on electrical and HV/AC equipment for all GPO and athletic facilities, and troubleshooting services for off hour emergency response needs. Under general supervision, the Refrigeration and Air ConditioningMechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of: a variety of domestic, industrial, and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units such as walk-in and reach-in coolers, refrigerators, ice cream cabinets, deep freezers, and evaporative coolers; large systems that provide a variety of air modification functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering, and circulating, in order to condition the air for buildings, central computer facilities, laboratories and experimental facilities. |
