We are the heart and science of medicine. We are UVM Medical Center.

This is a per diem positionwith shifts falling between Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. There is a $1.15/hr per diem differential on topof the hourlyrate of pay. This role isalso required to participate in the rotation of assisting with coverage of the weekend clinic throughout the year. There is a $2.00/hr weekend day differential paid for weekend hours worked.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Patient Service Specialist is an integral part of the patient experience and a key contributor to delivering high quality customer service to our patients and visitors that is caring, consistent and reliable. The incumbent provides administrative support in the clinic setting to patients and families, members of the care team and administrative leaders to ensure the smooth operation of the medical office.

EDUCATION:

H.S. diploma or equivalent required; Coursework in administrative or medical sciences preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Proven excellent customer service experience required. Must have at least one year of experience in a clinical and/or administrative setting, preferably in primary care. Must be able to multi-task, work independently and have solid organizational skills. Must have strong computer and data entry skills along with the ability to learn new computer programs.
